The supervisor of the Master’s
Degree thesis, presented for defense by the graduate of the
Theological Academy and Seminary Mr. Sulkhan Zarandia, PhD in
Philology, Professor Maia Rapava noted that the author of the
thesis has done profound work on the subject. He discovered the
source of the selected text, maintained in the Georgian manuscript,
among St. Basil the Great’s writings. Apart from St. Basil, the
text also contained admonitions selected from St. John Chrysostom’s
works. Mrs. Maia noted that the other problematic issue, which the
graduate set as his goal, was to establish the authorship of the
writing which he successfully solved – among the Georgian
manuscripts containing the works of Basil the Great he found the
collections in which analogous texts to the former are acknowledged
as the ones translated by Euthymius the Athonite.
