Metropolitan
Hierotheos (Vlachos) of Nafaktos and Agios Vlasios expressed his
gratitude to His Holiness and Beatitude Ilia II,
Catholicos-Patriarch of All Georgia, Archbishop of Mtskheta and
Tbilisi and Metropolitan of Bichvinta and Tskhum-Abkhazeti. It is
on the official invitation of the foremost hierarch of the Church
of Georgia that today he is on a visit here, in this country. His
Eminence noted that it is his third visit to Georgia.
The following is
Metropolitan Hierotheos’ estimation of the situation at Tbilisi
Theological Academy and Seminary: “Today's lecture, as I understand
it, has generated a great deal of interest and it is a great
pleasure for me. I was listened today by students who will become
clergy in the future. In their eyes I saw a great interest in
theology. They are especially interested in the theology of the
Eastern Church. We, Orthodox People are united in our Faith, which
stands on love for the naighbour; this is the foundation of the
relationships which I have felt today in the atmosphere of the
Theological Academy. It is obvious that this school is in the
process of revival, and the questions the students asked today
testify to a high level of their preparation.”
