On February 13, Grigol Bendeliani, a doctoral student enrolled
in the program of Theology (the doctoral-educational branch -
History of the Church, Modul A) History of the Ecumenical Orthodox
Church) at Tbilisi Theological Academy and Seminary, presented his
topic for the colloquium, entitled: “History of the Ecclesiastical
Educational Centers” (Analysis of Literary Sources; Formation and
Development of Ecclesiastical Educational Centers”).
The scientific supervisor of the work was Doctor of Theology,
Professor, Archpriest Maxime Chanturia.
Grigol Bendeliani’s topic was focused on the
establishment of the ecclesiastical educational centers and the
history of their development as well as the analysis of
literary sources related to this issue.
The Commission of the aforementioned department was chaired by
Archpriest Bidzina Gunia, Doctor of Theology and Philology,
Academician of Gelati Academy of Sciences. The members of the
Commission were: Doctor of Theology, Archpriest Ioane Bondarenko,
Doctor of Pedagogy, Professor Avtandil Asatiani, Doctor of
Theology, Irakli Orzhonia and Doctor of Theology, Rati Sturua.
The defense of the colloquium was also attended by the
Vice-Rector of Tbilisi Theological Academy and Seminary - Doctor of
History, Archpriest Besarion Tsintsadze, Dean of Tbilisi
Theological Academy - Archpriest Ioane Kvanchiani, Head of the
Doctoral Program of Theology - Doctor of Theology, Priest Tsotne
Chkheidze, and professors and students of this institution of
higher education.
