A Great Memorial Service was held at Sioni Patriarchal Cathedral of the Assumption of the Most Holy Theotokos. The service was dedicated to the commemoration of those teachers, students and employees of Tbilisi Theological Academy and Seminary who have passed away. It was offered by the Rector of Tbilisi Theological Academy and Seminary, Protopresbyter of the Orthodox Church of Georgia, Giorgi Zviadadze together with the clergy of the Theological Academy and those of Sioni Patriarchal Cathedral. The service was attended by the family members of the deceased professors and students. At the conclusion of the service, Protopresbyter Giorgi Zviadadze blessed those gathered in the church and addressed them with his sermon. He spoke about the merits of the deceased teachers.
“I would like to express my deep respect and gratitude to our deceased professors and teachers, whose contribution to the success of Tbilisi Theological Academy and Seminary is immense. May God grant their souls abodes in the Kingdom of Heavens where the righteous rest.
“I would also like to express my greatest respect for the students who received their education at the Academy and Seminary founded by His Holiness our Patriarch but are no longer with us. May God grant their souls to rest in peace,” Protopresbyter Giorgi Zviadadze noted in his sermon.
It is noteworthy that the Great Commemoration Service in memory of the deceased teachers and students of Tbilisi Theological Academy and Seminary is held annually at Sioni Patriarchal Cathedral.
