An International Symposium -”Studia Theologica Doctoralia”On May 13 and 14, 2024, the XVI International Symposium “Studia Theologica Doctoralia” was held in the city of Iaşi, Romania. The theme of the symposium was: A Theological Discourse - Words That Spiritually Revive and Heal. The mentioned symposium is held annually in the city of Iaşi. This year it was dedicated to a significant event – the Holy Synod of the Orthodox Church of Rumania proclaimed the year 2024 as the Solemn Year of Pastoral Care for the Infirmed and the Year of Commemoration of All the Holy Unmercenary Healers.
The symposium was organized by Dumitrou Staniloae Faculty of
Orthodox Theology of Alexander John Coussa University, as well as
the University of Karl-Franzens-Universitaet (Graz, Austria), Saint
John of Damascus Institute of Theology in Balamand University
(Lebanon), the Faculty of Christian Culture of Social Theology in
Aristotle University (Thessaloniki, Greece), and with the
participation of Miron Barnovski Association (Iaşi, Romania).
The professors and teachers of the aforementioned institutions
as well as the doctoral students enrolled in the program of
Theology of the theological universities in Rumania and in other
countries participated in the annual symposium.
It should be noted that the Head of the Doctoral Program of
Tbilisi Theological Academy and Seminary, Deacon Tsotne Chkheidze
participated in the symposium. The title of his talk was “A Prophet
as an Extraordinary Portent in the Bible and Hagiography.” The talk
was based on his doctoral research, titled: “Theological Analysis
of the Symbolic Actions of the Old Testament Prophets”.
Deacon Tsotne Chkheidze’s speech presented the results of his
in-depth analysis of the Old Testament prophets’ symbolic actions
and their analogues in the monuments depicting the lives of the
holy fools.
