Sessions continue on the third day of the Students’ Week of survey
of their scholarly activities, dedicated to the 91st birthday and
the 46th anniversary of the Enthronement of His Holiness and
Beatitude, Catholicos-Patriarch of All Georgia, Ilia II.
The students presented to the audience papers prepared under the
guidance of the professors and teacher of the Department of
Christian Art History and Theory and the Department of Liturgical
and Pastoral Theology. The session was opened with a welcome speech
given by the Head of the Department of Liturgical and Pastoral
Theology, Doctor of Theology, Archdeacon Demetre (Davitashvili). He
spoke about the special contribution of His Holiness and Beatitude
Ilia II to Tbilisi Theological Academy and Seminary and noted that
participation in the event dedicated to the anniversary of the
Patriarch is a great responsibility and, at the same time, a great
joy for both professors and students.
At the session, works prepared under the guidance of the teacher of
the Department of Liturgical and Pastoral Theology Giorgi Metreveli
were presented. The topic of the presentation was Shio Mghvime –
the Center of King David the Restorer. Besides the aforementioned
topic, Rusudan Vashalomidze, Head of the Department of Christian
Art History and Theory, presented works prepared under her
guidance. The topic of the papers was Discovery of the Tomb of
Pharaoh Tutankhamun - Howard Carter. The event was attended by the
professors and students of Tbilisi Theological Academy and
Seminary.
