Today, November 30, a public
lecture was delivered at Tbilisi Theological Academy and Seminary
by Doctor of Philology and Theology, Professor, Academician of
Gelati Academy of Sciences, Acadaemic Secretary to the TTAS
Dissertation Council, Archpriest Bidzina Gunia. The lecture was
attended by professors, teachers and students of Tbilisi
Theological Academy and Seminary.
The topic of his lecture was “The
Theological Aspects of Divine Service”. Archpriest Bidzina Gunia
drew attention to several important issues, namely - I. A
liturgical narration of divine history; II. Access to the Othodox
dogmas; III. Cognition of the Divine Providence of human Salvation;
IV. Personal involvement in the work for one’s own Salvation.
On the basis of hymnographic
texts, the speaker discussed the following teachings - a) About the
Holy Trinity; b) About the Savior’s hypostasis and two natures; c)
About angels. He also spoke on the topic - physical death as the
result of departure from God (falling into sin). At the end of the
lecture, Archpriest Bidzina Gunia comprehensively answered the
questions regarding his work. Remarkable opinions and evaluations
were expressed by the Head of the Doctoral program of TTAS, Doctor
of Theology, Deacon Tsotne Chkheidze and professors and teachers of
the institution.
The Vice-rector of TTAS for the
Educational and Administrative Field, Archpriest Besarion
Tsintsadze thanked Archpriest Bidzina Gunia for his interesting
speach and active participation in the scientific and educational
sessions held at the school.
Archpreist Bidzina Gunia
expressed his respect and gratitude to the Rector of Tbilisi
Theological Academy and Seminary, Protopresbyter Giorgi Zviadadze,
for the highly qualified educational and scientific environment
created in the institution. Father Bidzina also thanked professors
and students for their interesting and meaningful questions.
