Today, on October 20, in Sioni
Cathedral, the Rector of Tbilisi Theological Academy and Seminary,
Protopresbyter Giorgi Zviadadze, together with the clergy of the
school and the priests of the Cathedral, offered a memorial service
for the deceased professors, teachers, students and employees of
Tbilisi Theological Academy and Seminary. The service was attended
by the family members of the deceased, professors, teachers and
students of the theological academy and seminary and the
representatives of the administration.
At the end of the service,
Protopresbyter Giorgi Zviadadze spoke about the contribution of the
deceased professors and teachers of the academy to the well-fare of
the Church and the nation. He noted that many of them had worked
here at the invitation of the Catholicos-Patriarch of All Georgia
Ilia II, and the current success of Tbilisi Theological Academy and
Seminary, its scientific and theological achievements are largely
connected with their names. Their knowledge and experience became
the basis of the students’ scientific and intellectual work and
their service within the bosom of the Church. The great memorial
service for the deceased teachers and students is held every year
in Sioni Cathedral. With this service, Tbilisi Theological Academy
and Seminary pays respect, expresses reverence, love and gratitude
to the deceased teachers, students and employees.

before God for those who are no longer in this world is a help and
solace” - said Father Giorgi Zviadadze.
The choirs of Tbilisi Theological
Academy and Seminary conducted by Lasha Zaalishvili and Lekso
Gremelashvili sang hymns at the service.
