The staff of the Faculty and
Department of Christian Art Theory and History of Tbilisi
Theological Academy and Seminary visited the Student Day Centre of
the charity organization “Caritas of Georgia”.
The Dean of the Faculty of Art
Theory and History Tea Bezhuashvili and the Head of the department
Rusudan Vashalomidze spoke to the students of the graduating
classes about the mission of Tbilisi Theological Academy and
Seminary as the foremost theological institution in Georgia, its
historical traditions and contemporary activities, functioning
educational programs, teaching methods and peculiarities. They
reviewed in detail goals and methods employed while teaching the
program of Bachelor of Christian Arts. It was noted that Christian
Art Studies at TTAS are taught using an interdisciplinary method
and, most importantly, on the basis of theological knowledge. In
addition, they emphasized that the multi-disciplinary creative
workshops functioning under its aegis is considered to be the asset
of the school.

Bezhuashvili introduced the entrants and teachers to the specifics
of the entrance exams to the Theological Academy and Seminary. The
representatives of TTAS visited the creative workshops of the day
center of the boarding school, where students master the techniques
of artistic processing of metal, wood, stone, fabrics, learn icon
painting, and work on enamel.
The meeting took place in a
working and friendly atmosphere. It turned out to be very
interesting for both parties. The guests comprehensively answered
the questions put forth by the persons interested in them.
