On March 10, 2023, at the
initiative of Professor Sergo Vardosanidze, Doctor of History and
Theology, Head of the Department of Georgian History at Tbilisi
Theological Academy and Seminary, a joint event was held with the
participation of the students of the Theological Seminary and the
students and teachers of Saint Queen Tamar Gymnasium of the
Patriarchate of Georgia. The participants commemorated the victims
of the Soviet totalitarian regime - in the Gardens of the
Mother Tongue, they adorned the memorial of those who died on March
9, 1956 with flowers. The Rector of the gymnasium, Archpriest
Mirian Samkharadze offered a commemorative service for the
deceased. Mr. Sergo Vardosanidze gave a detailed talk on the tragic
event that took place in Tbilisi, on March 9, 1956.
