On May 19-20, 2020, a Students’
Week was held at the initiative of the Rectorate of Tbilisi
Theological Academy and Seminary. The initiative was supported by
the Service of Public Relations and Strategic Communications.
It will become a tradition in our
educational institution to organize such Students’ Days which, we
suppose, will become one of the best ways for students and teachers
to work together, for students to attain self-realization, develop
their scientific and creative skills, achieve their spiritual and
intellectual perfection.
This year’s event was held at the
Faculty of Ecclesiastical Architecture, Icon Painting, Restoration
of Easel and Monumental Icon Painting.
The students exhibited their
paintings and graphics. The event added a festive and uplifted mood
to the student life at our school. The courtyard of Anchiskhati
Temple, where the opening ceremony of the Students’ Week was held,
became even a place of their unity, cooperation and sharing of
ideas.
Various activities were carried
out during the Students’ Week. The exhibition space was divided
into 4 sectors. Students of the Faculty of Ecclesiastical
Architecture, Icon Painting, Restoration of Easel and Monumental
Icon Painting and their supervisors hosted visitors in an
exhibition space decorated with a variety of exhibits.
The space assigned to the
exhibition of Ecclesiastical Architecture was headed by Davit
Kelaptrishvili, a fourth-year student of the Faculty of
Ecclesiastical Architecture; the field of Icon Painting was hosted
by the fourth-year student Khatia Tkebuchava and the first-year
student Saba Tsotsoria while the works in the Restoration of Easel
and Monumental Icon Painting were presented by the fourth-year
student Tamar Ratiani.
The second part of the event and
its second day were entirely devoted to students’ reports and
presentations. Those involved in the Bachelor’s degree program in
Theology, some from the Faculty of Christian Art History and
Theory, and others from the Faculty of Christian Psychology
presented topics prepared individually and in groups. The
presentations were marked with diversity in themes and content and
offered discussions on important issues of art history, Georgian
history and bibliography.
The students’ Days of 2022 was an
important, interesting and colourful event for the students,
teachers and professors of Tbilisi Theological Academy and
Seminary.
