At Tbilisi Theological Academy
and Seminary, this day has been set as the starting date of the
academic year. It is a tradition of many years to begin the school
year with Moleben offered in Sioni Cathedral Temple by the
hierarchs of our Church who are assisted by the clergy. The service
is attended by the personnel of the academy and seminary, students
and the community of the faithful.
For decades, September 14 has
been a celebration for the teachers of our educational institution
and students. Sioni Cathedral Temple did not have enough space such
a great number of worshippers. The beginning of this year, sadly,
has been held with a relatively modest celebration since we still
have to follow the regulations related to the pandemic.
The Moleben was offered by the
Rector of Tbilisi Theological Academy and Seminary, Protopresbyter
Giorgi Zviadadze. The choir of our school led by Lekso
Gremelashvili sang hymns. The Rector congratulated the personnel
and the students of the school on the beginning of the new academic
year, conveyed the blessing of His Holiness and Beatitude,
Catholicos-Patriarch of All Georgia Ilia II and wished them success
on their path of deepening their faith and knowledge.
Tbilisi Theological Academy and
Seminary ushers the new academic year of 2021-22 with a safe and
orderly infrastructure for health. Corridors, rooms, offices have
been renovated. New inventory for every student to work separately
from the others has been purchased, which we think will be the
basis for activities without creating harm to their health.
Tbilisi Theological Academy and
Seminary congratulates the personnel and the students on the
beginning of the new academic year, and especially the freshmen,
who are entering a new stage of life, and wishes them edification
in spirituality and wisdom in serving honestly the Mother Church
and our homeland in today’s even more complicated
environment!
