Jerzy Ostapchuk, Professor of
Theology at the University of Warsaw, is visiting Tbilisi
Theological Academy and Seminary within the framework of the
Erasmus program. Today, on March 23, a meeting of the personnel and
students of Tbilisi Theological Academy and Seminary with a Polish
guest was held in the conference hall of Saint Andrew the
First-Called Georgian University. Jerzy Ostapchuk delivered a
lecture on “Emigration of Orthodox Georgians in Poland during the
Interwar Period.” Based on the material preserved in the Polish
archives and libraries, he presented in detail the history of one
Georgian Bagrationi family and their descendants and presented
photos of these historical documents to the audience. The meeting
took place in a warm, businesslike environment and ended with
questions that the guest was happy to answer.
