The Students of the Faculty of Christian Art History and Theory on Field Practice

With the support of the Dean’s Office and the Chair of the Faculty of Christian Art History and Theory, on November 8, practical work in the field - painting in plein air - was held for the first- and second-year students of the Faculty of Art History and Theory. The group was supervised by Maia Margiani, a teacher of drawing at the Faculty of Art History and Theory. The fieldwork was intended for developing students’ skills in working outdoors, observing the environment, rendering aerial and linear perspectives of the landscape and making quick, instant sketches. Under the teacher’s instruction, the students made sketches of architectural monuments in plein air, using the rules of perspective.

Ms. Maia spoke comprehensively and explained to the students the need to work outdoors in fine arts. After completing the interesting work, the students and the teacher visited the temples located in the vicinity of the spot.
