Tbilisi Theological Academy (a faculty) conducts a three-year course of Theology assigned for the attainment of the academic Master’s degree within the curriculum of the second stage of theological education.
Tbilisi Theological Academy prepares professionals for independent scientific, research and pedagogical activities.
The title of the educational curriculum is Theology.
The objective of the educational curriculum is to prepare professional theologians according to the level of contemporary standards. Equip them with a profound knowledge of theology and thus enable them to critically analyze and generalize the source material for research and deepen the knowledge gained on the Baccalaureate stage.
This stage of learning encompasses the curriculum relevant to prepare a scholar and researcher in theology, a theologian with competence in general theology and in separate fields of the subject, indispensably required for solving contemporary problems existing around theology. The scope of themes allows a Master’s degree student to gain a theoretical knowledge, develop and refine the ability to analyze and correctly interpret phenomena in association with theological processes. A Master’s degree student will have a concrete, wide and detailed knowledge of the Church Fathers’ work and of their epistolary heritage; while conducting researches, they will be able to take into account regional characteristics and properly use various disciplines of humanitarian sciences, such as History, Philology, Literary Critics, History of Language and Art, Paleography, Anthropology, Philosophy, Law, etc.
